Poetry event in honor of Dr. King

The Brighton Allston Congregational Concert Series will present an evening of prose and poetry honoring Dr. Martin Luther King on Saturday, January 16 at 7:00 p.m. Sam Cornish, Boston’s Poet Laureate, will be the MC for this open mic evening. All are encouraged to bring your writing. Refreshments will be served.

The evening’s theme is taken from a line that Dr. King quoted in many speeches: “If you can’t be a tree, be a bush.”

The event will be held in the sanctuary of the Brighton Allston Congregational Church, 404 Washington Street, Brighton Center. Directions are available by clicking on the link in the column to the left.
The evening is free and open to the public, although donations in support of the renovations to the Community Supper kitchen will be gratefully accepted.
